Edited on Wed Aug-02-06 06:47 PM by savemefromdumbya
It is sickening. We switch onto CNN, MSNBC etc and all we see is war, people being blown to bits. I explained that we were eating a meal and we were flicking through the channels and it was war, war, war. The blood sucking vampire of war Wolf Blitzer is so into it you can see it on his face! This justs makes me so mad. Why can't CNN provide entertainment. What about the impending HURRICANE. Doesn't matter if a few thousand Americans drown in NO because they were neglected?

1. Why not something on Paris Hilton! Just because its weapons from the USA
doesn't mean we should see the end product!

3. War is news, as is CNN (allegedly). For entertainment,
turn the channel. And PLEASE don't ask for hurricane coverage just yet. You'll be mighty sick of that before the summer/hurricane season is over.

6. I respectfully disagree...
...war is ugly, brutal and bloody - and, as long as they show the armchair yahoos the realities of war, MAYBE they'll stop electing fucktards who, from the safety of their air-conditioned offices in DC, keep supporting the bloodshed.:grr:

7. We don't see nearly enough.
Edited on Wed Aug-02-06 07:05 PM by bowens43
All of the reporting we see is sanitized. War is MUCH worse then it appears to be on CNN. Americans need to be shown what the troops are doing in Iraq, what the sectarian fighting that has occurred because of the actions of the US is doing to the people of Iraq. We need to see what our bombs are doing to the children and the women and the men of Lebanon. We should be shown the dead and the injured every minute of every day until we put a stop to it.

8. Personally, I'd like a bit of even handed analysis.
Edited on Wed Aug-02-06 07:08 PM by joemurphy
I'd like to know when this decision to attack Lebanon was made.

I'd like to know to what extent the U.S. government (a/k/a Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld) participated in it.

I'd like to know what effect targeting the Shia militants in Lebanon will have on our troops in Iraq that are tasked with pacifying and winning over Shia militants there.

I'd like to know how many Hezbollah have really been "taken out" by this operation.

I'd like to have someone explain to me how this is going to make me safer.

I'd like to know more about AIPAC and who gets AIPAC money.

I'd like to know if the Democrats really support this, and if so why?

I'd like to know why Condi claimed she wanted an immediate cease fire while Bush was saying he didn't want one -- both at the same time.

I'd like to know why we were the only nation in the world (aside from Israel) opposing a cease fire.

I'd like to know a lot of things. I won't hear any answers from CNN though.

CNN and MSNBC both suck. Their "journalists" are just paid political hacks.

10. Sorry but news is NOT supposed to be entertainment.
Its supposed to be information. If it bothers you at dinner...change the channel. They don't show nearly enough of "real" war or what is really going on. Don't watch it while you eat.

We should also be seeing American soldiers and Iraqis dying every day, and American caskets coming hom e-- just like we did during Vietnam. We should be seeing Palestinians killed and opposed, outrages in Darfur, etc.

19. Why would you do that?
War is the reality today. What you need to complain about is the glorification of war, and that is what they are doing. They need to show the atrocities and then show where it comes from. That is the truth.

35. If you want entertainment change the channel to E!
What infuriates me about the current coverage of the Israeli war on Lebanon, is if the media had paid as much attention to our war on Iraq, it might have ended a few years ago - perhaps even before it started.

Because if not, holy christ. CNN can't just provide entertainment, BECAUSE IT'S A NEWS STATION!

I would suggest that you try gardening, stop reading newspapers, and kill your television.
