Democrat Sen. Max Baucus loses nephew in Iraq War...
A nephew of Sen. Max Baucus serving in the Marines was killed in
Iraq during the weekend, the senator's office said Tuesday.

Cpl. Phillip E. Baucus, 28, died Saturday during combat operations in Anbar province, the
Department of Defense said. It did not immediately release further information.

In a statement, Baucus, D-Mont., said the family was "devastated by the loss."

Max Baucus voted to authorize war in Iraq in 2002. Earlier this summer, he joined other Democrats in voting to begin a phased redeployment of troops from the war-torn country by year's end.

3. Sooner or later, everybody does.
A pity he didn't die for a better cause. Saddam was vile and all; but there were and still are more significant targets in this War on Terror than Saddam ... But I'll spare the tangent and not spoil this thread.

2. Why should Max Backwards care? He

1. Wanted the war
2. Knew his nephew was going to fight and possibly die "for a good cause"

He should not be shocked nor awed by this sad revelation.

Still, unlike other politicians, he didn't use his clout to protect his offspring or relatives from enlisting. In that scenario, Mr. Baucus is a very decent and noble man.

Edited: Silly mistakes on my part

4. As crazy as it would be

maybe Max seriously did think the war would help the world? It is flawed logic that I seriously disagree with, however I think some senators and congressmen honestly voted their concience or their constituents desire and were not all bought out by big oil.

5. Prayers and condolences to his family.
And to all families who lose a loved one in this heinous war.
