Characterizing the Kansas BOE results [Good News here]
Edited on Wed Aug-02-06 03:50 PM by longship
I just received this from the Evolve-Act mailing list concerning yesterday's primary in Kansas.

There's more at this link: Red State Rabble - KS Victory

Read Red State Rabble's summary of the Kansas BOE primary results. FYI,
here's how the ten districts stand post-primary:

District 1 Janet Waugh - moderate
District 2 Sue Gamble - moderate
District 3 John Bacon - conservative
District 4 Bill Wagnon - moderate
District 5 Sally Cauble - moderate
District 6 Kathy Martin - conservative
District 7 Ken Willard - conservative
District 8 Carol Rupe - moderate
District 9 Jana Shaver - moderate
District 10 Steve Abrams - conservative and (for now) Chair of the BOE

So moderates now hold a 6-4 majority. Each Republican primary winner
will face a pro-science Democratic challenger in November.

That's it for now. Time for a well-deserved rest for so many volunteers
who put in so much effort toward getting out the votes for their
candidates. Despite a pathetically low 12-15% primary turnout, which
normally favors conservatives, moderates have cause for cheer today.
