"kill all military-age males."
This is a repost from LBN

I don't post this as a damnation of our troops or anyone.
I don't post this as an excuse for our troops or anyone.

I post this so you can appreciate the hot shit this guys are being dropped into.

Three of the accused soldiers, along with others in the unit, then make a remarkable claim in their sworn affidavits. They say they received unusual but unequivocal rules of engagement (ROE) for the task ahead. They claim that they were given repeatedand explicit orders to "kill all military-age males."

I was lucky enough to never have had to see combat when I was in the service. Reading that sent a chill up my spine. I guess this would pretty much cover things for the "report the good news" crowd. Think about hearing that...think about what that means, where you are going. I know this is a tough lot of guys and all but when you are told repeatedly that you are about to KILL EVERYONE YOU SEE you have to know that that is pretty much the standing order for EVERYONE in that area and that no one is going to be the same after today.

Man, I feel for everyone involved and their families whereever they may be.

1. The big question, yet to be answered:
Who issued that ROE? Where is his ass and on what line is it, in all of this?

4. No link, but yesterday ABC news reported it was the battalion cmdr.
No link, but yesterday on ABC news it was reported that the Battalion Commander gave the order. I can't remember his name, but he's now one of the division's brigadier generals.

To be fair, ABC also reported that a spokesman for the general vehemently denied the statement.
