Nevada Senate Poll: Carter has a shot!
A new poll (by Rasmussen) gives Jack Carter (son of ex-president Jimmy Carter) a shot at upsetting Ensign. Rasmussen gives Ensign a 46-39 point lead compared to an earlier poll which had Ensign leading by 53-34. Alot of political pundits were wanting to write off this race, but I don't think that is realistic. Its easy to see where Dems could pick up four or five Senate seats but the question is where we can get the sixth seat to give Dems the chamber--and speculation has largely been on Tennessee and Virginia, but this poll shows that Carter has a shot in Nevada as well.

3. We need to keep an eye on AZ, too.
That's the other Senate seat with a strong Dem challenger.
My good friend from Tucson claims that Pederson is really churning up the sand
in Arizona campaigning all over the place.

13. We've *got* to find that sixth seat.

And it would really be nice to find a seventh and/or eighth to offset a couple of radical DLCers.

17. This won't be a popular opinion
But I'm in Las Vegas and that is not a winnable race. We have a good shot at the gov race against the bumbling Jim Gibbons, but Ensign is not vulnerable in the slightest.

I'd love to wager it's not really a 7 point race. Not now, or then, or anytime before election day. Carter has been on the air for weeks and I've yet to see a single commercial for Ensign.

Again, I know it's also not popular to cite the betting odds as opposed to cheerleading, but the latest trading number on this race is 94.5-5.5. That's roughly 18/1.

The sixth seat can come from Tennessee. Outside shot Virginia. Nevada is not in play.
