Can/should Hezbollah get their money back for the missiles?
In my in depth ongoing analysis of what some people call World War 3 I try to reach and probe to find the aspects not usually commented on or even considered by most rational minds. This is one such case.

From what I can see the missiles Hezbollah is firing are about as accurate as a Bush administration budget forecast. I in no way mean to understate the loss of life that some of these missiles have caused or dismiss the pain of these losses but for the most part they seem to be about as accurate as Iraqi insurgent mortars, that being that neither one could hit dark in the night.

Can they get their money back? Do we know from whom they bought these things?

Also- are we billing the IDF for the bombs we are falling all over ourselves to get to them? Someone should do a comparison on how long it took a missile/bomb to get from US hands to IDF hands as compared to how long it took Condi to get somewhat near the Middle East.

1. I guess they'd have to take that up with who they bought them from
Being as many Neoconservatives want to use that as an excuse to invade Syria and Iran, I'm not sure that's something we want to flag up.

2. Well, Hezbollah didn't buy them, they were a gift from Iran.
So it's no real loss to them. There will be more in the post.

9. I was wondering about that
Did we bill them? or did the Bush administration just transport them and let some weapons dealers resell them (literally sell them twice) while WE picked up the freight charge? Would the latter really surprise you at this point?

10. I heard someone talking about this the other day.
Basically, we give money to Israel contingent on them spending the money in the US.

4. Snicker
Those are some lame-ass missiles, aren't they? I feel sorry for the people that have been killed, but damn, they have launched thousands of them now, and virtually every one landed in some uninhabited patch of desert.

It seems to me that if the Hezbollah were serious, they'd get some Stingers and take down Israeli planes and helicopters, not launch these unguided popguns into a stinking desert. But what do I know?

7. "onslaught"
I thought about this while reading about the "onslaught" of 190 missiles today.

I saw earlier that Hez has fired about 900 missiles or so so far. I don't know what the number of dead is (and each one is a terrible shame) but I know it is much lower than that.

No as far as "overkill" goes check out this story

Oh one last thing. THIS seems to be about as effective or at least predictable as the Hezbollah rockets

8. i suppose the manufacturer would claim they are not being.....
........used for their intended purpose, which is large scale saturation carpet-type bombing. They might also point out that you get what you pay for - namely WW2 era technology.

Hey, they make a heckuva terror weapon and they DID work as intended by coaxing Israel(and maybe the US) in to a war.

11. The title of this thread could have been about Hezbollah missiles that,
before they are launched, are destroyed by the Israeli military. From the title alone, one might think you were asking whether Israel should not only pay for destroyed civilian infrastructure in Lebanon, but also pay for destroyed Hezbollah missiles.
