Notice how they're completely ignoring the facts about the Club Gitmo story that we had for you yesterday afternoon before the end of the program. It was the guards being tortured by the inmates! Nobody's picked up the story. The Washington Times has it. They're just running the AP version. It has not made a dent because it doesn't follow the action line of the original story that the U.S. is guilty of torture and Bush is responsible for it. So once again we have a just a classic example here in Qana of how the Drive-By Media works.

Show up on the scene of the disaster -- in this case not caused by the Drive-By Media, but you show up -- you take one side's version of it and you broadcast that all over the world. You don't question it. You don't doubt it. You pronounce guilt and innocence in the circumstance and then right down the road you go on to the next story to commit the same act. Why haven't they demanded an investigation?

But wait a minute...Limbaugh eschews the "drive by media" which essentially is any media outlet other than himself - so why then is he quoting from the Associated Press and the Washington Times? According to his standards and his audience's standards The Associated Press and the Washington Times are BOTH the drive by media. What's he going to quote from next, CNN?

I personally know a few who listen solely to Rush because they think he's the font of all knowledge and truth. They then regurgitate all of Rush's talking points and it's disgusting.

One even wrote me back an email saying all manner of falsehoods and half truths that Rush had said in the past. They really do believe it! Sad. It's just a bunch of nonsense.

But the hypocrisy grates on my nerves. Rush eschews the "drive by media," but often backs up his own crap WITH that same "drive by media." It's the ultimate in hypocrisy!

Gitmo guards endure attacks from inmates

The prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay during the war on terror have attacked their military guards hundreds of times, turning broken toilet parts, utensils and radios into makeshift weapons, Pentagon reports say.

Incident reports reviewed by the Associated Press indicate Military Police guards are routinely head-butted, spat upon and doused by "cocktails" of feces, urine, vomit and semen collected in meal cups by the prisoners.

The guards have been repeatedly grabbed, punched or assaulted by prisoners who reach through the small "bean holes" used to deliver food and blankets through cell doors, the reports say. Serious assaults requiring medical attention, however, are rare, the reports indicate.

Guards stationed at Guantanamo describe a tense atmosphere in which prisoners often orchestrate violence in hopes of unnerving their captors, especially with attacks using bodily fluids.

"Serious assaults are rare" - wouldn't TORTURE be considered a "serious assault" if that's what were taking place against the guards?

Moreover this is the case in EVERY maximum security prison across America! It's nothing new. And it certainly doesn't intimate that any kind of orchestrated torture was going on (such as "waterboarding" or electric shocks) care of the inmates.

The U.S. systematically and brutally tortured many at Gitmo. That's completely different from a few inmate pranks.
