Press coverage of disputed elections- Mexico VS Ukraine
The Ukrainians were hailed at leading an "Orange Revolution"-

http://www.time.com/time/europe/magazine/article/0,13005,901041206-832153,00.html?cnn=yes

While Obrador is branded a "Leftist" and accused of blocking traffic

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/07/31/mexico.election.protest.ap/index.html

And CNN/time is actually nicer to Obrador than other news media.

Here is Reuters take on the Situation

MEXICO CITY, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Street protests led by the leftist candidate in Mexico's presidential election plunged the capital into chaos for a second day on Tuesday, raising fears of a long and increasingly nasty fight over vote fraud claims.

You guys remember how glowing the media coverage was of the lauded "Orange Revolution" in the Ukraine. It seems (according to the media) than the even larger protests in Mexico are "Hurting the economy" or "Blocking traffic" or "Creating a dangerous situation". I don't think the reporters are necessarily doing this on purpose, but if people could call them on it in a friendly manner we might discover the reasons for this discrepancy.

I am also wondering why they decline to cover, for the most part, the emerging proof of voter fraud-http://www.alternet.org/story/39763/

Probably for the same reasons they didn't cover it when it happened here:(

Thousands of leftists seized the capital's Zocalo square, one of the biggest in the world, and the main boulevard running through the city, causing three days of chaos.

2. Their guy didn't win in Mexico and the real winner is standing up for his
voters. How revolutionary-a winning candidate fighting for his democracy. Wish we could import some of that here.

Standing up for democracy is always painted as"annoying" or even "harmful"

According to the corporate american press,Democracy isn't even worth stopping traffic:(
