I wonder how Americans would react if they knew the truth, the whole truth
and nothing but the truth, about EVERYTHING? If they knew how much money has been stolen, how many lives have been snuffed out, how many acts of tyranny and deception have occurred since 2000?

I wonder how they'd react if the curtain of lies was ripped away and the ugly truth of the matter were revealed?

Could we handle the truth?

1. They don't want to know. Seriously, they don't. Half of their
time is spent avoiding reality.

14. You've got that right. I have
many acquaintances who tell me they don't discuss or follow "politics." And these are otherwise fairly bright people who just couldn't be bothered to pay attention as they and their country are sold down the river by the assholes in power. One woman actually proudly told me recently that she only follows "entertainment" news and thinks most Americans are like her. Sadly, there's more than a little truth to that.

7. Nobody knows the entire truth--does anybody really want to know
As Plato put it what we see as reality is really shadows on the wall. Jesus (I think) said "The truth shall set you free"

But let's face it, nobody really wants to see the entire truth. We all cling to our shadows--only these days they're on our TV sets and not on the walls.

If the truth were really known people on all sides of the political divide would have some of their most cherished beliefs devestated. Most of us would be happier with shadows that were a little closer to the truth as we see it.

15. What is KNOWN to be true is under constant supression via strategic
influence, perception management and other pragmatic devices that have failed to prevent the truth from emerging.

It's truly evil.
