Fall Elections
Ok, heres the opportunity of the American people to change the power in Washington. The people didn't do it in the Presidential elections, do you think people will vote out Republicans this fall to change the balance of power? I don't have much hope for that, I am pessimistic about the general public having enough common sense and intelligence to do it. What do you think? Has the american people come to their senses yet?

1. I know normal, average people
who only watch Fox news. I believe about 40% of the American public are sold on their criminal pResident. But they are not the majority. The problem is they own the voting tools and know how to rig them. It will require Americans to stand up and not allow their Democracy to be rigged again. I'm not sure the USA has the guts to defend their freedom.

2. It's really unfortunate that so many people
who, most likely, would really want to hear an accurate portrayal of the issues and would like to do the right thing, just have no clue how bad things are because of the media.

Funny how the repubs have drilled "liberal media" into the brains of every man, woman and child, to the point that even when the MSM reports something that maybe makes the administration seem less than perfect...people automatically assume that it's because the media has a "liberal bias".

Most people just don't have the time (or the attention span) to search out a variety of news sources and opinions in order to form their own conclusions. That leaves them vulnerable to the likes of Fox News. We may think that "everyone" knows Fox is a right wing propaganda machine....but really, they don't. They honestly believe Fox is "fair and balanced".

It's time to reinstate the "Fairness Doctrine"...and push the FCC for MORE restrictions on media ownership...rather than LESS!! Reagan's loosening of media ownership rules and the elimination of the Fairness Doctrine created this situation.

3. I just don't think people understand
how things work in Washington. I live in Maine and I can tell you right now that nobody will unseat our Republicans, they know how to use the older voters to their advantage. Its tactics and "fear factor" they use. Even though we have 2 Democrats in the congress, our senators keep themselves in the public eye. Even if they are less "party line" than most, they are still of the wrong party and should be voted out in protest. Besides, we are still losing hundreds of good paying jobs, and, they are not helping us.

6. I am afraid I don't have confidence
in the American people, In my circle, and, people I talk to still a lot of them support Bush and still believe the lies and the 911 connection. In a close election, theres always talk of vote manipulation, IMO, they should eliminate the electoral college system and go with the popular vote in a presidential election. If people are so unhappy with what is going on, the vote count shouldn't matter, it should be a landslide for Democrats and Independents. I truly hope the Democrats will regain power, if not, give me a one-way ticket to Denmark!:)
