just got this email, 15.8 mil per hour.
I know where the Progress Act can get some $:

The largest among them, Exxon Mobil Corp., on Thursday reported net
income of $10.4 billion for the second quarter, up 36% compared with
the same period in 2005. Exxon, BP, Royal Dutch Shell, ConocoPhillips
and Chevron collected more than $34.4 billion combined in profit in
the three months ended June 30, equal to $379 million per day and
$15.8 million an hour.

$15.8 million per hour? Now that's a nice hourly wage. I don't even
think I can comprehend 15.8 mil per hour.

4. Imagine $34.4 billion
meted out at a dollar a second. Helluva wage, $3600 an hour. Need a new car? Wait a few hours. Want a house? Wait a couple of days, a week. At that rate, you wouldn't run out of money for nearly 1100 years.

5. Combined profit of 5 largest oil corporations, not hourly wage.
Still astounding though.

Also astounding is the actual hourly wage of the previous Exxon CEO; $13,700 an hour.

And his retirement package: $400 million.

7. It's a good thing they don't try to influence politicians with that $$$
I mean, if they wanted to, they could cut tax deals, land grabs, environmental policy, elections, even influence foreign policy.

But, seeing as their respectable businesssmen, they would never do such a thing.

If I had only ten minutes of their profits I could retire in luxury..The USA is overspending it's revenues by $100,000.00 per second right now, I wonder how much of that overspending is causing these huge profits on the backs of our grandchildren.
