Holy Beam Me Up! The raptureready folks give Gibson a free pass
Apparently the devil made him do it. Literally.

http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=268704

I don't know about you guys, but these rapture ready message boards are my new guilty pleasure!!!

*********************

"This is not to excuse Mr. Gibson's behavior, but we need to pray for him. I have to wonder what Satan would like to do to a man who put the story of Jesus and the Cross out in a major theatrical release."

"I agree.....my heart is heavy for him today. The news is just plastering him...and I am not excusing his behavior either...but I cant help but think of the pain he must be in. He has been scrutinized for making a stand with the Passion of the Christ over and over. By both Hollywood and Christians. He has to be in pain.....my prayer is someone (a born again believer) will minister to him in rehab. That the Holy Spirit would touch him, he could break free from the bondage he is in and he will truly live his life with a Passion for Christ....."

"I was so disappointed when I heard about this because I really like Mel Gibson. This could really damage his career and he knows it. And he can say that he's not a bigot or anti-semitic, but those words came from somewhere. The Bible states that for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. The pictures on the news of him with girls hanging all over him didn't help either. I pray the Lord works on his heart and reveals Himself to him in a mighty way."

3. I wondered where the rubber would hit the road in terms of Israel
Edited on Tue Aug-01-06 11:38 PM by ourbluenation
with these people. They are very pro israel and I thought Gibsons comments would really get them going....but no. When it comes right down to it, their "care" of jews and israel really is all about them and their agenda, and Gibson is one of them. Hence the free pass.

9. The free pass is due to their religiosity...
They support Israel no matter what because of their christian beliefs, but still get on the Jews' back because they don't accept Jesus as the messiah.

My mother went batshit crazy because I read a book on Judaism. She thought I was going to convert or something and it upset the hell out of her. But she'll tell you that the US must NEVER turn on Israel. Gawd will punish us with fire and brimstone or something to that effect.

2. Gibson has been a booze and a whorehound for decades. It was just rarely
discussed publically by "evil Hollywood out to destroy a great Christian" as they would put it - now why do you suppose all those evil Hollywood people would not tar Gibson back when they COULD have at the time his Passion movie came out? Where's the rapturista logic in that circumstance, eh?

Do you think the rapturistas have an answer to that?

I don't see any reason to hate him or stop watching his movies which I find entertaining.

7. Almost reminds me of when two ladies at the VA talked about Ron Howard...
They were sooooo disappointed in him because he directed 'Da Vinci Code'. It was a riot. Then in the next breath they talked about how much they liked Katharine Hepburn because I had her biography with me. If they only knew she was a planned parenthood supporter and refused to go the WH when Raygun was in office.

As with most hypocrites, these people will pray for old Mel, but wouldn't waste their breath on Michael Moore or anyone else who thought different than them.

10. When their ministers told them to see the movie, they became
Gibson followers. That's a crazy world over there.
