This heat is a killer in Chicago
Chicago today 10 people died from the heat. One that got to me the most was a world war two Navy vet. He survide the Indianapolis and the shark invested waters. Friend on TV said he had lost his VA benefits this year. Today temps were in the 100's. Blackouts and people suffering. Forcast no break for a day or two.

1. Same here about 260 miles to the east in Detroit...
A sauna would have been cooler.

4. Hottest day of the year here in Ottawa
Reached 97F (36C to us). I know that some in the south laugh at that, but we're not used to such heat.

And it's humid as a jungle.

5. At 1:00 a.m., it's 88° and feels like 98°.

That's an improvement from earlier. Humidity is 65%. It's unbearable.

I notice the Chrysler Bldg., Chanin Bldg., Graybar Bldg., and several others have far fewer lights on tonight. My residential building was asked to close the laundry room from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. I think Con Edison is making an effort to conserve electricity.

7. I'm in Yuma, Arizona. . .120 Degrees. . .95 at night.
It should be required for all places to have A/C EVERYWHERE. . .if you don't have A/C or a Swamp Cooler in Arizona, you don't have an apartment complex, a business, a school. . .nothing.

Swamp coolers would do fuck all in humidity. . .but AC should be required because of events like this!
