"W" bumper sticker on BMW SUV
I pulled up behind a new BMW SUV today and was disgusted to see a "W" bumper sticker on it. I figured it to be some rich doctor who loves his tax cuts. As I got closer I could see that it was a slightly different version of the "W" sticker:

4. I had the same but it had WTF
But, I ended up taking it off because from a distance it look like I supported the Bush/Chenny crime family.

6. but, how many people look that closely?
I bet 90% of the people just see the "W" from a distance and don't look closer, with many of the 70% who don't like Bush are probably rolling their eyes

7. Mine is a W with Wacko
I also have an Impeach Bush sticker so if they don't look closely, perhaps they see a voter who has come to her senses!

8. I am really starting to believe in the collective subconscious
I referred to "wanker(s)" in a thread this week - and it's hardly a phrase I normally hear or use. But, one constantly casts about for fresh ways to refer to "W" (cretin, moron or the alternative moran are all so overused - and of course the alliteration afforded by "Wanker" is too good to pass up). My own impression of the definition of "wanker" would be - "self-absorbed whack job"

10. It can be very real and very powerful
We're all filtering similar input and a lot of us are arriving at similar conclusions at the same time and in the same way. The collective subconsious is working our way for once. Death, dying and devastation is becoming more real to people (us, the US) who have been removed from the real messiness of life for decades. But, we've had 9/11, Katrina, and sons and neighbors dying in Iraq to make us suddenly realize that war is not a video game and politics and politicians are not just some air dryed fluffheads who do not impact our daily lives.

13. See?! That's what I mean.
A word you never see hear or think of and all of a sudden, it's everywhere.

I have heard another definition of this phenonmenom - described as a "reticular filter" (I think)
It just means that all of a sudden you are surrounded by things you are thinking of. The simplest example is that you are thinking of buying a car. You hadn't settled on any particular make, but then one day you decide that you might like a SCION. Suddenly, they are everywhere - next to you on the highway, in the parking lots, it seems like you are about to drown in freaking SCIONS. There are no more or less of them, it's just that suddenly you are AWARE of them. They have crawled through the filter.

Of course in Bush's case, he only masturbates horses.
