Washington - It is turning out that Washington's green lighting of the Israeli attack on Lebanon is having unexpected political benefits for the American right wing. Large numbers of previous anti-war protesters and administration critics have been flocking to back the newest war promoted by the neocons that influence ans sit in the Bush administration.

Neocon spokesman Richard Pearle was ecstatic saying, "If I knew it would be so easy to get liberals off my back, I would have insisted that Israel invade Lebanon before we bothered with Iraq. That seems to be the popular war. With that in our pockets, maybe the criticism of Iraq would have been more muted."

The Israeli government could not be more pleased with the support. They were worried that their heavy-handed tactics that some have called war crimes would hurt their image in the U.S. The surprising number of liberals flocking to their cause has greatly lessened those fears.

Of course the Israeli's could always count on American politicians supporting them. They are known for their lopsided approach to the Middle East situation.

Remaining American peace activists are stunned at the turn of events as they see once loyal anti-war activists openly embracing the neocon notion of solving disputes through force and bombs rather than negotiation or international consensus.
