3. On the newsbreak on Dobbs, it was reported that they
checked the papers of several people and removed a couple of staff members and an abducted soldier. Didn't say anymore than that and I've not heard more elsewhere. Who knows?

way things are around here lately, they'll be called imperialistic monsters for doing so.

You just watch.

But regardless of what anyone else thinks, I hope the Israeli soldier they (hopefully) rescued is ok, and that no innocent people were killed.

It's entirely hypothetical, of course. And give the reports that the hospital is burning it looks like Israels intentions were less than benign.

...Hezbollah's chief spokesman said Israeli troops landed near a Baalbek hospital and that fierce fighting raged with guerrilla fighters for more than one hour. Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV reported that fighters were involved in a ``confrontation with an Israeli unit that landed near Al-Hikma Hospital west of Baalbek.''

Some witnesses said that the hospital had been hit in an Israeli airstrike, and was burning.

The attack in Baalbek, the ferocity of other battles Tuesday, the determination of the Israelis to keep fighting and the minimal diplomatic progress toward an immediate cease-fire all indicated the war is more likely to escalate than end soon

34. Here you go: link-
http://rwor.org/a/v19/940-49/944/lies.htm

Snip:
"One of the most sensational stories of supposed Iraqi atrocities was the report that Iraqi troops who marched into Kuwait in August 1990 had taken 312 babies out of incubators at a Kuwait City hospital and left them on the floor to die. This story was a key piece in the campaign to paint Iraq as totally evil--and to portray the U.S. war against Iraq as a mission to "rescue" Kuwait and "restore democracy."

But, as John Stauber and Sheldon Rampton recount in their book Toxic Sludge Is Good for You!: Lies, Damn Lies and the Public Relations Industry (Common Courage Press, 1995), the incubator story was a complete hoax. It was cooked up by a public relations firm hired by the reactionary oil kingdom of Kuwait. "

20. So Israel is bombing hospitals.
Destroying more civilian infrastructure just to make sure the survivors have nothing left. Not even a chance to get medical care.

And Israel is also blocking aid from coming in.

But this is all being done in the name of self defense? :eyes:

HEZBOLLAH guerrillas have surrounded an Israeli military helicopter crew after they landed near the eastern Lebanese city of Baalbek amid fierce fighting late today, a militia spokesman said.
The Israeli troops ran into a local hospital south of the city and militants encircled the building, the spokesman said, without saying how many Israeli troops were on the ground or if any were injured.

But there was fierce combat between the forces south of the city....

17. IDF commandos conducting raid deep in Lebanon
<snip>

"Witnesses in Baalbek said they saw dozens of IAF helicopters hovering over the city. They said a private hospital in Baalbek, filled with patients and wounded people, was bombed by IAF helicopters late Tuesday. Plumes of burning smoke billowed from the hospital after it was directly hit, they said.

There was no immediate word on casualties.

Hezbollah's chief spokesman told the Associated Press that IDF troops had landed near a Baalbek hospital and that fierce fighting was raging between commandos and guerrilla fighters. "There was really an Israeli landing of troops around the Dar al-Hikma Hospital in Baalbek. Hezbollah fighters engaged Israeli troops in fierce fighting that has been raging on for more than an hour," said Hussein Rahal, Hezbollah's media chief.

Al Jazeera reported that an IDF commando force landed at the hospital in the village of Tel Al-Abayed in an apparent effort to strike a senior Hezbollah official Israel suspected was hospitalized there. According to the report, the hospital was evacuated prior to the start of the IDF operation."

Hezbollah: Israeli Troops Trapped In Baalbek Hospital

Israeli commandos were trapped inside a Baalbek hospital early Wednesday, fighting fierce clashes with guerrilla fighters who surrounded the facility in the eastern Lebanese city, the chief Hezbollah spokesman told The Associated Press.

"A group of Israeli commandos was brought to the hospital by a helicopter. They entered the hospital and are trapped inside as our fighters opened fire on them and fierce fighting is still raging," Hezbollah spokesman Hussein Rahal told AP.

The Israeli military refused to comment. Rahal said Hezbollah guerrillas were using automatic rifles and rocket- propelled grenades.

Rahal dismissed as "untrue" reports that the Israeli commandos managed to snatch some patients from the hospital and spirit them away in helicopters. He said Israel jets were attacking the surrounding guerrilla force with rockets.
