Army Guard units: NOT READY FOR DUTY, SIR!
Today:

WASHINGTON - More than two-thirds of the Army National Guard's 34 brigades are not combat ready, mostly because of equipment shortages that will cost up to $21 billion to correct, the top National Guard general said Tuesday.

=====

Campaign 2000:

At the Republican convention in Philadelphia, George W. Bush declared: "Our military is low on parts, pay and morale! If called on by the commander-in-chief today, two entire divisions of the Army would have to report, 'Not ready for duty, sir.'" Bush says he is the candidate who can "rebuild our military and prepare our armed forces for the future."

1. 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11
sure, 9/11 has nothing at all to do with this, but you KNOW that will be the response

"duuuhhhh, imagine how combat ready we would've been if 9/11 didn't happen.. duuhh... Bush is God"

3. I just thought of another one:
announcing a lack of military readiness emboldens our enemies! This reporter should be jailed for violating national security!

9. Does it occur to Rumsfeld
that maybe it's a bad idea to have private security guards like Blackwater, paid huge sums to do things our own soldiers used to do? Or that maybe if there had been more thought given to reconstruction, that we wouldn't be paying a fortune to Halliburton for screwing up and not delivering what they promised? That's where our tax dollars have gone, to Bush's cronies.

There hasn't been much left for the troops, who are doing the suffering and dying. For all of their hardships, they've been rewarded with not enough food, and what they do get is rotten, and dirty water. This has been an incredible failure from start to finish, whenever finish actually gets here.
