Israeli Warplanes Bomb Vehicle At Lebanon-Syria Border

BEIRUT (AP)--Israeli warplanes struck the main Lebanese-Syrian border crossing Monday for the third time in as many days, hitting a vehicle, the Israeli military and witneses said.

It was Israel's third strike despite calling a 48-hour pause of its air campaign.

. . . Lebanese police officials said two missiles struck near a vehicle carrying relief supplies near the Lebanese customs post, wounding four people and a customs officer..

Israel struck in the no-man's land at Masnaa on Saturday, forcing the closure of the crossing to commercial traffic - though some ambulances and relief material continue to come through. Mores trike followed Sunday.

Another airstrike Monday killed a Lebanese soldier in his car outside the southern port city of Tyre. Israel said it had believed the car was carrying a senior Hezbollah official and acknowledged the mistake.
