CNN Breaking: Israeli troops helicopter and land(?) next to Syrian border.

Syrian troops have been mobilized as of this morning.

This will confirm Syrian's suspicions that Israel intends to expand their influence to their border.

article:

Alert Order for Syrian Troops

DAMASCUS, Syria, Aug 1--Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad ordered his forces to step up their readiness in the face of Israel’s continuing offensive on Lebanon as the military marked Army Day Tuesday, AFP wrote.

The official SANA news agency said Assad ordered Syrian troops to “intensify their training efforts, be prepared and increase their state of readiness in the light of the international situation and the challenges in the region“.

“We must understand that every effort and each drop of sweat put into training now will save a drop of blood when the hour comes,“ Assad said in remarks reported in the Syrian press.

“The fight will continue as long as our land is occupied and our rights are violated,“ he added. “Victory will be ours, with the help of God.“

Assad issued the new alert orders Monday three weeks after Israel launched blistering attacks on its northern neighbor Lebanon following the July 12 capture by Shiite Hezbollah militants of two of soldiers in cross-border raids.

CHTOURA, Lebanon (Reuters) - Helicopters landed Israeli soldiers on hills near the northeastern Lebanese town of Baalbek, a Hizbollah stronghold, on Tuesday, Lebanese security sources said.

The aim of the operation was not immediately clear, they said. An Israeli army spokesman declined to comment.

11. I hope not...
That's why this thing is no longer just an Israel problem. The international community should have drawn a line in the sand at any attempt to expand beyond the current theatre, but essentially they ALL have been fiddling with the wording of their empty resolutions that become invalid as soon as the wording has been whitewashed to reflect symmetry of condemnation.

The individual actors in all this don't need the UN or any forums to act, if they choose to do so and can use whatever economic leverage they have to sanction Israel, hassle it's foreign nationals, recall it's ambassadors and order the Israeli one's out of their countries. Doesn't have to be permanent, but it should be done. As soon as Lebanon files with the Hague, signatory countries should freeze Israeli assets pending financial settlements (if any) that might be issued by the Hague.

None of this wouldn't hurt anyone except Israel and would at least show some symbolic concern for international law.
