Why was the Bush admin so slow at even making the appearance
of responding to the misery in N-O and the Gulf Coast caused by Katrina?

As we all know, Bush was running around eating cake and strumming the guitar. Quite different from the "Mission Accomplished" Top-Gun photo op.

I'd think they'd want it to look as if they cared. What was Karl Rove thinking about?

2. They were playing to their base. Those folks prolly still get quite
a chuckle over the devastation in New Orleans.

3. Condi was buying shoes, Rummy was at a ball game, Kkkkarl
was getting kidney stones taken care of (big, ugly painful ones, one can hope!), and Cheney? Who the hell knows? Wyoming most likely.
It was vacation time, and no one thought the lives and deaths of a few black folk were precious enough to give a shit.

9. I believe so. Remember how the bastard stated that "like most of
America I've been glued to the TV for the last few days". Watching it on TV as opposed to actually doing something.

Go fook yourself Mr. C.

4. I don't recall who said but I recently heard
on the radio this telling statement:

Republicans will tell you government does not work and is inefficient. Put us in charge and we will prove it.

6. The sad reality...
...is that these guys are just really, really bad at governing or doing anything other than being ideologues.

8. The big picture is that they don't want any money going to the people.
They only want the money coming from the people.

Most importantly, they want as many disasters as possible to be localized - taken care of by the people. They expect volunteers will pitch in to do the work. They expect contributions from the public and organizations that for the most part get their funding from other organizations and individuals, grants, etc.

In other words they love bleeding hearts. They want everyone to feel like they need to do their part.

This way more money stays in the tax disbursement accounts and there is more for them to steal from ... HUD DOD ... money they need to run their shadow government (sub-governments) - the ones where they decide their own spending independent of Congress and any other kind of accountability.

Yes, they love bleeding hearts.

Bleeding hearts sacrifice plenty. Non-bleeding hearts may end up to be the most wealthy, thus we pick up genuine contempt coming from them when they call us bleeding hearts. You can't respect the people you steal from.

Proof - FEMA went from being one of the most effective agencies in the government under Witt and Clinton - to being a total disaster under Cheney, TRP (trp = the real president).

Ask yourself how they have improved themselves so far under Homeland Security. Ask yourself if they plan to improve themselves. Ask yourself if they care what you think.

They are laughing all the way to their banks.

The U.S. government under Cheney - TRP, is a total rip-off that is not yet ackowledged by its own citizens. Momentum of loyalty and trust is what they are operting on. Few have woken up. Momentum can bury us if we don't wake up and stop their momentum.
