GOP Aids Green Candidate Carl Romanelli
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/S/SANTORUM_GREEN_CANDIDATE?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=US

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Thanks to the generosity of GOP donors, a Green Party candidate is expected to make it onto the ballot in Pennsylvania's Senate race and siphon votes from Democratic front-runner Bob Casey in his bid to unseat Republican Sen. Rick Santorum.

While Santorum said Monday that he would welcome another candidate on the ballot, Casey's campaign accused Republicans of "trying to steal the election."

Green Party candidate Carl Romanelli, making his first bid for statewide elective office, acknowledged Monday that Republican contributors probably supplied most of the $100,000 that he said he spent gathering signatures to qualify for the Nov. 7 ballot.

An analysis showed that at least $29,000 came from donors who also have given to Santorum's campaign, and nearly all the donors had given to Republican candidates in recent elections.

3. Sure sounds that way
I can't say I know anyone who donates dollars to more than one candidate running in the same race. Particularly in the range of $1,000 on up!

4. I am ready to go to war against the Greens
I do not give a rip about Casey's position on Abortion. It is in the hands of the Courts anyway. We have a great opportunity to get this wing nut idiot out of office and it is reprehensible that their are folks on this site who would support a Greenie before Casey.

You folks helped keep Gore and Kerry out of office. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS two-term Debacle called a president.

If you vote Green in PA you are THE undisputable reason Santorum will be returned to power and the NEOCONS will stay in Control And I will work my darnedest to keep you off the ballot anywhere, any how I can.

6. Do you think the Romanelli supporters are fully on board with this?
I haven't kept up on the weekly polls between Santorum and Casey; last I heard Santorum was losing ground but it was still close.

It's infuriating the way these a*holes use their money to subvert elections. :grr:

I knew before I looked at your profile that you were a male. I find it amazing that 51% of Pennsylvania's Democrat's agree with you. Women in Pennsylvania apparently don't care as much about control of their own bodies as their Sisters in some other States do.

I'm not in Pennsylvania, but in the long run I hate to see another throwback enter the Senate to undo what everyone worked so hard to accomplish. And don't think he won't fuck things up for everyone else too! And stop throwing around your bullshit accusations, I'm not a green, but I find your tone extremely offensive. Casey is a throwback, you could have had a real progressive who would have helped move this Country ahead. Don't come here and moralize and while you throw Women's rights out the window.

8. Can we put a Moral Majority candidate on the ballot?
Maybe have Roy Moore move to PA?

I believe Santorum is Catholic, so maybe a strict Baptist will siphon votes from him?

for Santorum. :)
