South Florida, this appears to be heading your way. Time is on your side.

4. Yeah, we know
You have to understand though that we see situations like this about a half dozen times a year. Now for the last 2 years that has sometimes resulted in a bastard of a storm coming through, while in previous years it always seemed to go elsewhere, most often further up the east coast.

We'll deal. I have a generator, flashlights, batteries, propane lantern, several tanks of propane, backup gasoline, a closet full of canned goods, backup radio (hand generated power or batteries), and assorted other accoutrement's that the past couple years have taught me I'd wish I'd have. We'll be fine.

5. Here's a link to a Chris thread in the Weather group also

I think whether or not it goes into the gulf will make a big difference in the intensity to come.

6. Chris now forecast to become a hurricane
Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph...95 km/hr...with higher
gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours...
and Chris could become a hurricane later today or early Thursday.
