OUTLAW XTIANITY!!!!
in a recent thread, DU poster Bluebear showed us a collection of Rapture art gathered from around the Web:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=post&forum=364&topic_id=1785873&mesg_id=1785873

After looking at what we can expect when the rapture occurs, I was forced to come to the following conclusion:

It should be ILLEGAL to obtain a drivers licens or a pilot's license if you are a Christian. Period. The risk that you might be raptured at any time, leaving your vehicle to careen wildly along at 65 mph, or your plane to fall out of the sky is unacceptable!

Is it not madly irresponsible for any Christian to operate heavy machinery, since nobody knows the exact moment of Christ's return?

The carnage that this so-called "rapture" will cause makes 9-11 seem like a sunday picnic!!! Forget the muslims - we need to be sending those Christians to Gitmo!!!

I demand that our government protect us from all of these Christians, who are planning an attack on this country of unimaginable scale!!!

At the very least, they should have to live like the Amish - very few people get killed by out-of-control buggies.

Or am I just overreacting?

;)

6. Well fundie Christians never think about the consequences of their actions
...is it that much of a stretch to ask them to make certain sacrifices in the name of preserving life?

7. ROFL... silly xians

 :dunce:

I don't really so much care about the fact that they believe in the rapture, as I do the fact that they insist that everyone else believe it to, and believe so strongly in it that apparently there are a group of them bound and determinded to make it a reality.

8. They see those of us who will be left behing as sub-human and deserving...
of punishment.

Why do you think they work so hard to cause Global Warming and to pollute the environment?

It isn't just that they don't care what happens to everyone else-- they are actively trying to make things worse for the rest of us.

They're like the guy who gets a laugh out of intentionally making a great big fart right before they leave a crowded elevator.

9. When I read that subject line I was expecting to get pissed off.
But in fact, you have a pretty good point. Maybe just replace the bumper stickers so that they read:
"In case of Rapture, this car will dangerously swerve off road and kill innocent bystanders"

Even bicycles can be dangerous in the hands of idiots.

12. Speaking of outlawing, this town is trying to outlaw churches. They have
too many of them already, and no tax base to provide services. Time to tax them, I'd think:

http://www.click2houston.com/family/9464577/detail.html

STAFFORD, Texas -- The leaders of a small Texas town are hoping to put out the "no vacancy" sign for religious organizations hoping to build there, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.

There are more than 50 churches in Stafford, a community of 15,000 people southwest of Houston.

City leaders said it's not a religious freedom issue, but rather a question of how to pay for city services in a town that does not have a lot of choices.

15. I think Atheists should be barred from public office
Thank goodness the AMerican people are unlikely to vote for the ungodly, but we shouldn't trust their judgement forever- after all if a person believes the universe is devoid of meaning, what is to stop him or her from committing the most blatent and brutal excesses.
