In Support of an Acronym Change.

I am a gay man and I think that rather than GLBT, the acronym should read GBLT.

I think that Gay Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwiches have been treated as 2nd class sandwiches long enough. I think it's time gay sandwiches stand up and DEMAND the same rights as the hamburgers, club sandwiches and submarines of the world.

Most of us can remember a time when the supreme court said Peanut butter and jelly could never be on bread together (see PBJ -vs- Whitley's Delicatessen, 1965) And now look at them...every 1st grade lunch box in America contains PBJs...out and proud to be crunchy AND PURPLE at the same time!

And how about those horrible lies about how Gay BLT sandwiches are more likely to commit suicide or become addicted to drugs. Actually, we know that it's society and it's ignorance that has driven some among this now vocal minority to despair.

We know the truth.

I think America is ready for GBLT equality. It's right for now, it's right forever. And it's right good with french fries and a vanilla shake.
