One Of My Third Graders Made A Comment On The War Today . . .
Edited on Wed Jan-18-06 08:01 PM by Dinger
We were lined up for lunch, and down the hall, in the high school end of the building (I teach in a pre-K-12 school), was a recruiter. The little boy in the front of our line asked why those guys in uniforms come to school, and I just said to try to get people to join the military. He said to me,
I'd sure never join. I'd get all blown up. People are crazy to sign up if you ask me. That war is a mess teacher."

Sweetest little kid you'd ever want to meet.:patriot:

1. Awww
I like how he quantified it with "That war is a mess teacher"

Gotta love kids!

I would have a hard time being a teacher however, and keeping my mouth shut when it comes to freeper kids.

4. Thanks, And I Believe Me, I Said Nothing.
It was totally spontaneous. He's a little sweetie, believe me. Could be a good sign of what his mom and dad think too.:)

2. The honesty of children
is amazing. You would think with *'s child like mentality he would be able to see the same thing.

3. during lunch study hall I made a comment on how Bush reminds
me of a chimpanzee, comparing him to a drawing a girl was working on

the first comment I heard was "I HATE Bush!" somebody else said something about my making a political statement (can't remember his exact words), but I said my description had nothing to do with my opinion of him, which I said I wouldn't discuss, as they could make up their OWN minds about that.

I DID, however, demonstrate his bizarre way of walking, with the front side of his hands facing forward as he strides, instead of brushing his leg with his palms, as hominids do. I told the kids to watch for that. they thought it was pretty funny

I hear some of that, but more right wing talking points. From kids of all ages.
