Crisis in Cuba: Day Two
With Fidel in surgery, the *cabal must be dancing with glee. Time to democracitize another sovereign nation, even if it kills'em.

This from the Dept of State one year ago:

Secretary Rice Appoints New Transition Coordinator for Cuba
Says Caleb McCarry will help bring democratic change to island

The appointment of Caleb McCarry to lead the U.S. Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba will facilitate and hasten Cuba's eventual transition to democratic governance, says Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

In July 28 remarks at the State Department, Rice recalled that President Bush created the commission to "accelerate the demise" of tyranny on the island nation. Cuba has been ruled for decades by dictator Fidel Castro.

With $59 million in funding, the commission is "empowering Cuban civil society to better organize and advocate for democratic change," Rice said. "To direct our government's actions in support of a free Cuba, I am appointing Caleb McCarry to serve as our Cuba transition coordinator."

That's where we went wrong in Afghanistan and Iraq, we forgot to name the f****'n transition coordinator!

7. Radio Havana on SW is loud and clear, so I'll have to listen..I've let it

go since the switch to DST--my schedule now doesn't "match" the times they broadcast.....but I'll have to do it.

For months, they've read sections of the US policy about how Cuba will be "improved" by the US's capitalist takeover.....the health system, the education system, etc. which seem to be working pretty well (very high literacy, for example; training doctors for countries in South America)

It's heartbreaking to hear the details....read by the those under the gun.
