1. look at what the mayor of miami said
Miami Mayor Manny Diaz predicted that the next few days would be ``very tense.''

He called it ''unusual'' that Castro would be willing to cede power, even temporarily, and suggested that it was a sign that the Cuban leader's health was deteriorating sharply.

''Obviously, we're all going to be very, very happy the day that he dies,'' Diaz said. ``We'll be keeping a close eye.''

2. Watching Anderson now
He's apparently the only one who's "LIVE!".

OK...coinkydink that Bush was in Miami today? I have the distinct and certain "feeling" that they knew about Castro's health and plans to hand over power to his brother.

6. In SoFLA here....luckily not in Miami ...
My partner, who's Cuban, is looking with incredulity at the sheer stupidity of some of the folks dancing in the streets..

1) No knowledge is Fidel's dead
2) Juanita (Fidel and Raul's sister who lives in US) hates Raul 10x as much as Fidel as Raul is more ruthless, neurotic, insanse, monstrous than Fidel.
3) Any of the "we're free" dancers in Miami are in for a rude awakening.

Fidel's a vile creature--to be sure. But so is Raul who is now in charge...
