11. It's always worth the wait.
Lamont comported himelf wonderfully - and Colbert showed the clip of the "kiss of death" for Lieberman.

10. My wife and I both wish they'd switch Colbert's timeslot with Stewart's
Some nights, the Daily Show I can just take or leave, but the Colbert Report is don't miss.

14. I totally agree:
This may be sacrilege, but I think the Report has surpassed the Daily Show. Colbert is a surgeon wielding the scalpel of truthiness and no one could bemore Linconish or Grippy!

15. It ain't sacrilege if it's the truth. :-)
Don't get me wrong, Jon Stewart has some of the most biting commentary around. But Colbert has taken it a step further. He's turned it up to 11. There are multiple layers of comedy going on at any given moment.

It's great that they're both on! I just want Colbert first. Then I could watch Jon's opening news, see who the guest is, and turn it off if it's some lame-o promoting a movie I'll never see. :)

16. It doesn't help that Colbert was the funniest correspondent
Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 11:58 PM by Hippo_Tron
Before The Report came on, I used to live for This Week in God. And the segment that he did at the Democratic National Convention in '04 was quite possibly the funniest segment ever.

Of course, there was also a lot more material for Jon to work with during the election.

Also, I think that something else needs to be considered here. Right now Colbert is absolutely on fire. It may last and it may not. I certainly hope that it does. But The Daily Show has been on for ten years and has certainly proved that its success is more than just a fad. We'll see if the same hold strue for Colbert.
