Setting the Record Straight: President Bush's Foreign Policy Is Succeeding

The United States Is Rallying The World Behind Its Policy Toward The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. "We will continue to promote a negotiated solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the basis of the Roadmap in order to advance a just, viable and lasting two-state solution and we call on both parties to avoid unilateral measures that prejudice final status issues." ("U.S.-EU Summit Declaration: Promoting Peace, Human Rights And Democracy Worldwide," 6/21/06)

Gregory: The Administration Has Exercised "Diplomatic Disengagement From The Israeli Conflict In Favor Of A Wait And See Approach." (NBC's "Today," 7/21/06)

The Administration Is Continuing Its Active Engagement

* The Associated Press: "Rice Outlines Plan For Mideast Solution." "Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, heading for a weekend trip to the troubled Middle East, said Friday she would work with allies in the region to help create conditions for 'stability and lasting peace.'" (Anne Gearan, "Rice Outlines Plan For Mideast Solution," The Associated Press, 7/21/06)
* The President Has A b Record Of Personal Engagement In The Middle East Peace Process. Since taking office, President Bush has met with Prime Minister Olmert once since Olmert became Prime Minister, President Bush has met with Prime Minister Sharon 12 times, and President Bush has met with President Abbas five times. This includes President Bush's 2003 meeting with Prime Minister Sharon and President Abbas together in Sharm el Sheikh. In 2002, President Bush outlined his vision for Middle East peace, including a two-state solution....

OK, all is fine now, keep up that rallying!

Edited to add:
For those that have not heard of Setting the Record Straight, it is part of the official whitehouse website, devoted to countering critics. It used to be on the front page, but after a bunch of outcry from DUers to various journalists and legistlators, it got removed from the home webpage. It is still there, but must search to find it. Lots of other good topics if you click on the StRS link @ top of it.

2. In their eyes they're succeeding.
In their greedy, beady little eyes with dollar signs for pupils.

NGU.

12. QUIT SPAMMING
Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 09:53 PM by uppityperson
don't spam my thread. Did you know that spamming is a violation of DU rules? Did you know we can search and see what else you have written?

Here is the rule:
Duplicate Topics and Spamming

Do not post duplicate topics that have already been posted. There are different levels of enforcement in different forums. For example, the Latest Breaking News forum has extremely strict rules against duplicate topics, but the General Discussion forum is much more lenient. Cross posting of duplicates in the two General Discussion forums is not permitted. Cross-posting of duplicates in other forums is occasionally permitted if there is a clear reason for doing so.

Do not spam the message board by posting the same message repeatedly, or by posting a flood of different messages. We have an automatic spam filter which blocks out members who post numerous messages in a short period of time.

13. This administration made our foreign policy in the Middle East...
East a foreign policy based on oil strategy and proxy state Israel. I doubt we will ever succeed in the Middle East as partner in peace given our full support of Israeli policies in the region.
