A question if Lieberman wins next Tuesday
If he does win the primary against the darling of DU, Ned Lamont, will DUers be claiming that the vote was fixed in some way? I am nowhere near Connecticut so I only know what I read here and hear on progressive talk radio and it sounds like Lamont is pulling ahead in some polls, but not by any overwhelming margin. Since there is hatred of Lieberman in here, and since some people think everything is a conspiracy if it goes against Dems and/or faves, I just have to ask. Personally, if I lived out there, I'd vote for Lamont as Lieberman is an obvious DINO. But if Lieberman does indeed get more votes than Lamont, let's please let the whole thing drop and move on with our support of Dems. After all, most of us don't live in Connecticut and can't really gauge the voters out there. But if Lamont wins the primary and Lieberman goes "independent", then he (Lieberman) should be defeated at all costs. One thing is an almost sure bet though, if Lamont ultimately wins the Senatorial seat and does something "conservative", some DUers will be all over him.

We usually do both
Kerry and Gore were robbed, and yet both of them ran the worst elections in history.

2. I live in CT. Our voting process has integrity. Voter Fraud is...
not very likely to occur here. Our SOS is a Democrat and she takes the issue of "vote integrity" very seriously.

3. The Establishment likes Lieberman
I'm guessing that another "statistical impossibility" will be discovered if Joe wins.

4. Connecticut has no Diebold machines
that should deflate some of the critics.
Unfortunately each group has it's own 'purity police.' People who feel that someone who strays from doctrine is not a real member.

As for me: GO LAMONT! I hope he thoroughly trounced joementum next week.

6. If Lieberman wins....(which I hope he doesn't) he
will return to his same old bullshit of backing the * cabal...kissing his fuhrer on the lips....

You would think if he wins that he realizes he was in the fight for his life...but the way he is acting now and I propose he will act if he wins is that he is entitled to that seat and he will continue with his bad decisions....

No if he wins the pressure needs to continue to let him know that CT constituants are not happy with him....he no more has a mandate or political capital than * did in the last election...

If he loses and runs as an indepenent and does a Nadar....should we let it go? Just curious....

9. My only concern about this primary is that I heard many repukes
reregistered and changed their party affliation in order to vote for Lieberman. In the last month my son changed his affliation from Independent to Democrat so he could vote for Lamont. I thought there was a May deadline to change parties, but obviously I was wrong.

10. I think Lamont has it.
But hey. Wouldn't it be great if Repukes just all registered to be Dems anyways and stopped participating in their elections? I think it would definitely have us less worried about anybody too bad getting elected in Connecticut.

11. I live in Connecticut. The only "Joe Lieberman" lawn sign you'll see...
Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 10:11 PM by Atman
...is on Joe and Haddasah's front lawn. Or on the occasional traffic island. Ned Lamont bumper stickers everywhere, but I have literally never seen a bumper sticker for Joe. Anecdotally, it looks like it would be amazing if Lieberman carried his own street, let alone actually beat Lamont statewide by anything more than an automatic recount-inducing margin. I just don't see it happening.

But then, I know we don't have Diebold here. So, any dirty tricks would have to be the old fashioned kind, and those aren't nearly as effective against swaying a wide margin. All I can say is that it will be verrrry interesting.
