1. The Howler is the only blog I've stopped reading...

Since I started reading political blogs/sites I have stayed with each of them either out of habit or enjoyment over long periods of time even when they frustrate me. But for some reason the Howler just got too boring and sanctimonious for me and I stopped reading it.

2. This would explain why The Daily Howler isn't on my favorites list anymore

Somerby's loyalty to his good friend is nice, but I'd rather read about something six years after the fumbling of the Florida debacle.

3. I used to read Bob faithfully

and I credit him with opening my eyes to the media especially election 2000.

But man he can go dead wrong about some things... aka Joe Wilson.

I've seen Steve Gilliard just kill him on that issue.....

Does he slam Wilson or something? Bob loves to be right, and whenever he is, he's sure to let you know it, with footnotes and references. He'll turn the merest nitpick into triumphant proof of his rightness about all things.

8. it was more a raising the question of why nobody else mentions

our recent history there. That Dowd continues to misrepresent her role in the War on Democrats engaged in by the SCLM. Dowd can write: "For Cooke, Glass and Blair, their editors were the marks. But at least that unholy trio only soiled newsprint. For the Bush crowd, the American people were the marks." without ever needing to acknowledge her own lies about Gore which would be widely known if more people read The Daily Howler, or if other people spread the word.
