Outback takes Santorum to an expensive lunch, gets lucky

Few have noticed, but the minimum wage increase (and Paris Hilton tax cut) passed in the dead of a Friday night also contains a provision that would actually cut pay for restaurant workers (and others who get tips) in a number of states. This is the SAME MEASURE we wrote about last year that was pushed by Rick Santorum at the same time Outback Steakhouses was giving him $13,000 and throwing him a luncheon, on the same day he intruded at Terri Schiavo’s hospice. Now, Outback (which had been pushing for this provision) is finally going to see its down payment on Santorum pay off.
