the hatred of Bush is as grossly wrong as the hatred of Clinton was. Joe L
so says Joe Lieberman.

If the war and his position on Schiavo isn't enough, mull that quote. (I missed this first go around, apparently the link was posted on Kos and others last March.)

So, having sex with an intern really IS as bad to Joe as all of Bush's failures and lies.

Not bad.

Keeping it very simple since it'll be a b/sticker.

and his lack of understanding of the problem that over half of the americans people have with this war. The Big Dog had a 60% approvals rating at the end of his second term, i dare say the Decider will stay in the 30's.

5. Sorry Joe you are wrong, wrong, wrong
The hatred of clinton was a phenomenon planned and orchestrated by a very active and well financed right wing disinformation machine fed by a very ignorant and easily swayed base of carbon life forms. The hatred of bush is based on what he has done since he has been president. (I hate the sonofabitch for stuff he did before he was president) but I'll limit the study to his selected years. bush intentionally lied to the American People, that lie resulting in 10's of thousands of deaths, Clinton killed his own sperm cells. No contest joe.

And I thank you hamlette. I have been sitting out the lieberman situation but thanks to this post, joe has lost me for good. Not that it will matter since I'm not a connecticut resident but my opinion on this guy has solidified.

39. perhaps Joe would say
that we only think he is a war criminal because we hate him. It is interesting that the right wing was very concerned about civilian casualties and infrastructure damage during Clinton's Kosovo campaign. Paul Harvey used to say that we were making enemies by doing that, and when Clinton was not convicted he quoted some woman writing from Nebraska "so long America, you were great while you lasted". Ted Rall also called Clinton a war criminal.

In a sense Joe is right, the right wing whipped up hatred of Clinton because they did not like his policies. Our hatred of Bush is mostly based not only on policies which harm America, in our view, but also on the dishonest way Bush tries to sell his policies. Funny with all the fires in California that nobody is talking about Bush's "Healthy Forests Initiative" and how it apparently did not work, except in its true purpose - making profits for the logging industry. There is no problem so bad in this country that Bush cannot make it worse by using it as an excuse to despoil the environment, take away civil rights, and enrich his base - "the haves and the have mores".

42. I say to my right-wing family members: "I'd agree if I believed that."
Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 04:34 PM by TahitiNut
What I've seen repeatedly is people who begin with a bias and then feed it with falsehoods and half-truths, using such lies to feed their animosities. When, however, one begins with facts and a steadfast perspective of balance, one can distinguish between "I disagree" and "He's a war criminal." In this regime's case, they're actually war criminals. The facts lead to the animosity instead of the bias causing happy acceptance of falsehoods taken as 'facts' excusing a rush to animosity. It's all in the intellectual honesty - honesty with one's self being the key.

"Good people" do "bad things" based on false beliefs. So has it ever been from Caligula to Son of Sam to Andrea Yates.

16. way to repeat the right-wing meme, Joe
Calling the legitimate political grievances we have with the current administration "hatred" is playing right into their hands. It suggests that our reaction to Bush's policies is standard partisan complaining, and not a justified response to their terrible policies.

Getting a blowjob off an intern while cheating on one's wife (admittedly, not good but mainly because of the adultery) is equal to two wars, coming up on three thousand dead squaddies, an economy in the toilet, an international reputation rapidly approaching the U-bend as a psychotic bully with a superiority complex, rampant corruption and social policies led by religious fanatics?

I'm sorry I'm not in CT to vote against him but I have sent Lamont money. What pisses me off is that you never see stuff like this in the MSM. To the pundits, this is all just about Bush haters and the war.

I bit my tongue when he ran as VP. And I did see his charm and humor. But he is too pious and out of touch to be in office.

Joe should be a republican, he is so "entitled". How DARE anyone say anything bad about me let alone run against me.

If you hold an unpopular position you better be able to defend it. If you can't, get yourself over to the GOP where that is respected as are bullies.

I've hated Joe since he beat Lowell, my favorite republican. Lowell, for those of you who don't remember, wanted to stop being so silly about Cuba. Lifting travel restrictions etc. Joe got money from CANF and beat Weiker in large part on that issue.

Joe also wanted the us to keep Elian here in the US. He is on the wrong side of so many issues but to listen to the press you'd think we are against him only because of his war vote.
