After they are satisfied they have won, hezbollah is dismantled, thousands of lebanese dead, infrastructure destroyed....

ok, so fast forward through however long that takes.....

Who pays to rebuild lebanon's infrastructure? Their airport? Their factories? Are the Lebanese left holding the bag? Does the international community help out?

I ask the same question about our occupation of Iraq, who pays?

I would think, common sense would be the country who did the damage, but I'm wondering if Israel or the US will actually make war reparations. Does anyone know if that is or isn't so?

Just trying to think ahead here.

2. Next 60 years (at least) cleaning up after terrorist attacks
A people with little power will resort to what ever means. It won't stop.

3. These aren't "wins". It is impossible to occupy land in ME
in the long run. They will wear you down, no matter how long it takes.

5. right, that's why I put it in quotes: "wins".
But Olmert today say they will continue to fight until they win (I think, going from memory here).
and Bush also speaks of winning in Iraq.

I think they're both delusional. There is no "winning" when the act of fighting is throwing gasoline onto an existing fire.

4. We are now paying to destroy three countries
Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon. We will dearly pay contractors who'll shamelessly gouge us and don't reconstruct anything. The wars will inevitably spread. The third-worldization of the entire planet is now in full swing. The have mores will become the have everythings and the rest of us will live in squalor.

7. About the same thing as happened after we "won" in Vietnam.
You remember? "Peace with Honor".

Or, when we "Won" the (not-so) "Cold War". The world is ever so much more peaceful and harmonious now that the dreaded Soviet Union is gone.

8. The land is Afghanistan and Iraq
has been polluted to the point of being inhabitable. Israel is now applying the same radioactive manure to Lebanon. What's next? Sick and dying populations.

11. they'll use the destruction and chaos to steal as much money as possible
then, they'll invent some reason they have to "win" somewhere else.
