Hardball Thread
Chris Matthews is still yapping about Hillary Clinton's Plantation remarks. I guess since Sharpton kicked ass yesterday, he needs to get a stronger republican view on today.

6. Myers is doing very well.
The longer that people like her and Sharpton are on, the better I like it. The republicans are doing no harm to Clinton or the democratic party. It is fine with me if Mr. Rogers wants to tell black folks what they would do if they were smart.

We get glimpses of the truth that way. They don't handle unscripted remarks very well, particularly when they're the ones making the comments. Did Ed only get the Reader's Digest version of his marching orders today?

39. So it's okay to joke that Abramoff might have murdered
someone, but if Hilary uses the word plantation, she's the bad guy? I am loving that the Repubs engaged their mouths before their pea-brains, and are now having to hear about all the times they used the word "plantation" themselves.

to hear that Newt G. used the exact same expression. He tried to keep Dee Dee from making that point, and finally Matthews made it clear he did. I suspect that if there is a film clip of republican presidential candidate Newt saying this, it is going to get some air time soon.

43. Gingrich plantation quote
Setting aside the promises of Gingrich's introduction, no reasonable person could expect scholarly inquiry from a man with a history of indulging in bombastic intellectual pretension and outrageous historical analogies: Gingrich once compiled a "required reading list" for fellow members of Congress; and on the eve of his great electoral victory ten years ago, the speaker-to-be told a reporter he was leading a "slave rebellion" against the Democrats who "run the plantation." One might have expected Gingrich to grow up a bit in the years since his fall from grace. But Winning the Future suggests that he's just waiting to launch another rebellion.

18. Chris Matthews never really...
got over that bout with malaria. Of course, that's no excuse for doing such an evil job of covering the REAL wrongdoers in the US government. It's nothing more than a plain fact that the House has been run like a plantation. Only the rich, privileged few have benefitted from their criminal mismanagement. By the time they're done, the rest of us will be lucky to have as good a job as the average plantation slave of 150 years ago.

Every single domestic problem that comes along can be cured by another tax cut for the wealthy. Every "foreign relations" problem has already been handled by God, who has put George Bush in office, and exempted him from telling the truth and following that "goddamn piece of paper" - the United States Constitution.

Hillary on the other hand, is fighting dirty by telling it like it is. There is nothing racist in her "plantation remarks" - every non-wealthy American, regardless of any qualifier, is in the same boat.

I have not watched a single news show other than Countdown since 11/04.

I feel that you only make yourself more stupid by watching someone like Chris Matthews or Larry King every day.

At 4:59:40 PST I turn my TV to MSNBC, and the second Keith says "Good Evening Rita," I change the channel.....hopefully before she has a chance to open her mouth and speak with her grainy voice.
