Israel Strikes Road to Damascus on Syrian Border/Syria Closes Border
Edited on Sat Jul-29-06 01:49 PM by KoKo01
This is the road that refugees were following to get out of Lebanon. Don't know about injuries..sounds like they just did strikes.

CNN reporting this now.

Also two more UN Peacekeepers were struck in Lebanon...no more details.

UPDATE: Reuter's reporting Israeli Spokeperson saying this was done to stop Weapons that were being Smuggled from Syria.

CNN Armchair General says Syria might be helping and we might see Syrian troops back in Israel.

2. Do they WANT WW-III?
They could have hit that road five miles from the border.

This HAD to be to provoke Syria into a military response.

4. I have lost track of who is who's proxy in the ME these days
Has Rumsfeld LOOKED at a map recently? Does he know which nations are on either side of Iraq, where our already exhausted troops are stranded? Is he gonna be stupid enough to get us in a war with two fronts from a base where we are already fighting a losing battle?

Damn. Is it too early here to have a drink?

6. Either they are out of their minds ....
or it's been planned. Last night Frank Gaffney (NeoCon/PNAC) was on with Matthews looking very confindent and almost smirky when Matthews brought up the scenario of a widening war because Iraq was going so badly ..what if the terrorists took advantage of our weakness. Gaffney gave me the chills as he took a drink from a coffee mug and looked like he "winked" at Matthews after he finished. I kid you not...it was very creepy. :-(

8. Hate to think all part of the plan, but keep flashing back to Sharon
going to the Temple Mount during HIS campaign in, what, 99, 2000? Things were pretty peaceful and looking hopeful back then. He know he was provoking trouble with that little stunt. And trouble he got.

Thinking more and more, part of the plan.

Sharon's total mismangement by doctors with his stroke. Given the wrong medication..in a country known for excellent physicians and given his prominence. I've always wondered about that.

3. What a crying shame
That is heartbreaking to hear. MSNBC said that the strikes were at the border crossing forcing Syria to close down the crossing. So now what happens when one of these strikes enters Syria? What if Syria retaliates from being hit? What will the world reaction be?

This is madness, sheer madness. Those poor people have no way out of there.
