Poll question: Who thinks the Republicans are keeping track of gun and ammunition sales?
They are tracking our phone calls.

They are tracking our banking transactions.

They are tracking everything else but some people don't think they are tracking gun and ammunition sales?

For those people I have some beautiful seaside property for sale.

1. Not the Pubs, but the stores who sell guns and ammo are!
Actually, the guns and ammo you need to worry about are those that are traded privately. Certainly not all privately traded guns are a problem, but those that are old enough to have been acquired prior to the registration requirements have NO HISORY at all, and CAN BE purchased by ANYONE.

3. Yes and only the telephone companies are tracking our phone calls too
I don't think so.

5. There is no registration requirement...
at least not at the federal level (NFA firearms being the exception).
I suppose it could be argued that filling out the form 4473 required for purchase from an FFL is defacto registration. For that reason, it's not uncommon for gun owners to aquire their firearms via private sales for the sole purpose of not leaving a paper trail.

7. I know. None of ours have a paper trail. Mostly because we've had
them all for a very long time, a few inherited, and one purchased from a private owner.

We've NEVER been worried about registration being the base step to confiscation, as the NRA always yells. Not until NOW! Shrub and his crowd scare me to death! He ignores any law he doesn't agree with at the time, and I don't feel anything is safe from his criminal crowd!!!!!

10. I would say if you have never bought ammunition for any of them...
...you wouldn't have anything to worry about.

But on the other hand if you have bought ammunition for any of them chances are pretty high they are tracking and recording those sales along with gun sales.

There was a house committee meeting last week about this and they are selling weapons all over the place. At least military weapons. If you mean civilian weapons - I dont know.

As far as the phone records that is for purely political reasons i.e. who is the DNC calling today.

4. Is that the Republican controlled House committee you are talking about?

I don't trust that House committee too much.

At least, that's my guess. It sucks, I know...

9. Every gun store...
...is owned and staffed by republicans. I was almost kicked out of a gun store about ten years ago for admitting that I voted for Bill Clinton. The staff and other customers watched me closely--and with some amazement--as I paid for my Browning Hi-Power.

The good news is, most of my republican shooting buddies are finally well and truly sick of Bu$h's lies and wars.
