Are you sure they weren't referring to the "Plantation" comment?
If it was that, the first one I've heard of was Gingrich! in 1994.

4. Well, there's actually some truth to that. And good for them for pointing
out this has been the Republican way of doing things for a long time.

I think we're not following Gingrich enough, in some cases. He got lots of press for repeating accusations over and over again. Although, in his case, he didn't care if they were true or not.

5. actually I hope we do
Ginrich successfully tarred Democrats as a party of corruption and won Congress by doing so. I hope we do the very same thing.

7. The GOP attacks the word because they can't handle truth spoken by Clinton
It's a dirty GOP tactic. This way they don't have to argue about substance or facts.

11. Gingrich had a majority.
He came in with his contract for America. He stated what he was going to do, worked on it a little. Did the minimum and called the job a success.

We want complete reform, not just a surface grooming. We want topsoil under that sod. We want a foundation for reform that will last.

21. I hope you are right.
Unfortunately, like the Republicans, the Democrats we want to elect are ... uh ... politicians. I know if we get Dems in office, life will be better for everyone except the upper 1%. But in reality, they are not super heros. They can only do so much.

19. I really don't think the Contract for America really did anything. I think
people were just fed up with the Democrats at that point. After the election, a lot of people I talked to had no idea what the Contract for America even was.

12. Nothing wrong with that
Newt's Contract On America was a bad plan, but face it - it was a plan.

No reason why the Democrats shouldn't be doing the same thing.

By the way, Ted Kennedy needs to get his Medicare For All plan out there as a talking point. Regardless of whether his idea would work, the Dems do need specific plans.

http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0112-37.htm

An essential part of our progressive vision is an America where no citizen of any age fears the cost of health care, and no employer refuses to create new jobs or cuts back on current jobs because of the high cost of providing health insurance.

The answer is Medicare, whose 40th birthday we will celebrate in July. I propose that as a 40th birthday gift to the American people, we expand Medicare over the next decade to cover every citizen - from birth to the end of life.

It's no secret that America is still dearly in love with Medicare. Administrative costs are low. Patients' satisfaction is high. Unlike with many private insurers, they can still choose their doctor and their hospital.

...(telling them the AUTHORIZED spin) are stacking up, too. They will try many approaches to spin the rhetoric UNTIL they find the one their sheeple will follow. Testing ground=CNN

How do they spin this?
Let me count the ways.....
