Communication Designers UNITED – New Policies, Constitution Campaign
Edited on Sat Jul-29-06 08:54 AM by graphixtech
Five graphic designers selected as winners of the prestigious
National Design Award of Communication Design formally declined
to accept their awards at the White House. These graphic designers
showed leadership by taking a stand based on personal integrity.
Bravo to Michael Rock, Susan Sellers, Georgie Stout, Paula Scher
and Stefan Sagmeister!

Inspired by this refreshing news of five ethical designers,
an ACDU PUBLIC NOTICE of Constitutional Campaign caught
my imagination.

1. I have been worried about the "constitional crisis" as well!

But I was heartened to see someone refuse to accept platitudes from liars, killers and thieves.

Too many people buy into the myth that "heads of state" deserve respect regardless of what they do. They feel that by brushing shoulders with them that some of the "magic" will rub off on them. I wonder if that's how they got so many people to vote for them.

Anyway, the current administration has defiled the executive offices.

If all designers joined ethical boycotts such as this, maybe
change would come about. Imagine if there were a collective
policy and service boycott by all communication designers.
Out of control corporations entwined with our government
would quickly lose the public relations war.
