House GOP Gives Paris Hilton $91M @ 2AM!
So the Republicans in the U.S. House stayed up until almost 2am tonight to give Paris Hilton some extra money (there's something funny about millions of dollars being showered on Paris Hilton in the dead of night, but I'll leave that joke for someone else to finish).

How much extra money? Try a cool $91,089,200.

4. What's that in Bill Gates dollars?
$91 million? Bah! That's chump change!

No wonder Paris is "hot". While most people lead lives of toil and ennui, and while far too many have been broken on the wheel of rich peoples' cravings, she gets to command that wheel.

Mr. Gates, at least, is giving some of his money away. A "penny" at a time.

But Capitalism must triumph. That's why the deed was done on Saturday morning at 2 AM. Any other way would subvert the Work Ethic, don't you know.

Let it roll ...

5. My Democratic Congressman voted for this shameful legislation
Edited on Sat Jul-29-06 05:16 AM by Lasher
I just sent an email to my Congressman, Nick Rahall, who voted for this crap.

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2006/roll425.xml

He also voted against overriding Junior's veto of stem cell research. I told him I was highly disappointed and asked him to justify his position. My guess is, he's playing both ends against the middle to ensure re-election in November. With votes like these, the only good he's doing is providing one Democratic seat toward a possible majority in the House this fall.

Edit for spelling
