1. My e-mail to Cafferty:
Oh, sure. Let's send more meat to the sausage grinder. It's patently obvious to all but Tony Snow and those he speaks for that this is now a civil war. Adding more troops will not change that, and will only put more American lives at risk. The sooner we (to paraphrase Rumsfeld) recognize the war we have and not the war we would wish to have, the better off we'll all be.

6. my response:
Forgive my ignorance Mr. Cafferty but what troops should be sent to Iraq? The troops that are currently in Afghanistan? The National Guard helping St. Louis recover from horrible storms and heat? Those who were sent to the Mexico border? Perhaps the right question isn't "should we send more troops" but "CAN we send more troops".

9. to be honest, I'm shocked we don't already have one
and I'm shocked no one is talking about it right now given that the drums of war are beating again for Iran and/or Syria. :shrug:
