1. Yep. And Jon is not letting him off the hook either.
"Don't dodge the question, come back to us, Senator"

Great point about "As Iraq stands up we'll stand down" too

2. After he was completly roasted
the last time he was on Jon's show, I am amazed that he is back. He must be so desparate for air time that he will do anything to get it.

24. McCain rolls with the punches
This is why he is way more dangerous than Bush (who is dangerous in his own right).

3. He's gargling with Cool-aid
He's that far up in government, and he can't figure out that these were not mistakes?!

This is not something they are trying to win. It's a plan. PNAC. Has he not heard about PNAC? He's a Senator for god's sake!

4. Why does Stewart let him on the show?
Why does anyone still like him?! He's a complete phony and a pussy. Some day democrats and republicans will agree on this.

19. McCain and TDS go way back to the 2000 "Straight Talk Express"
When they heckled him on the campaign trail. Twice I think.

5. McCain is a thug.
Anyone who thinks that he is "moderate" is in for a big surprise.

He'd make Bush look like Lefty McLiberalhead.

6. Jon is kicking John's ass right now
The Reps are SO clueless, they can't even do humour anymore.

It's good to be king.

10. I agree. Stewart made him into a blubbering mess.
McCain tried at one point to say something about it just being a comedy show but Jon was having none of it. He had McCain squirming in that chair. And when McCain said, they want me, Jon said, "no, they don't". It was hilarious. McCain rambling on and on with political talking points, and Jon begging, "Come on man, just talk the truth," or something along those lines. I hope everyone who watched this saw this phoney baloney guy. He was a hero, granted, many years ago, but now he is just a tool of the dark side.

25. He wasn't particularly funny, no, but he wasn't a "pussy"
I don't think he was trying to be funny in the first part of the interview, he was trying to get a straight answer out of McCain, which he was unable to do. He made McCain look like the tool he is. I think he asked him to come back when he could tell him what he REALLY thought, although not exactly in those words.

When McCain tried changing the subject, Jon wouldn't let him. He was respectful, but NOT a "pussy". I thought he did an excellent job with McCain, while still remaining respectful, which is more than I would have been able to do. Some things just aren't funny, like McCain's support for the idiot king, and Jon IMO did a good job.

21. I'd say of any show they've come the closest to blasting Olmert and Israel
Did you not see the reporter segment earlier? It was almost a Swiftian highlight of the suffering of the Lebanese.

23. That's to bad, because Jon turned McCain into Mr. Mumbles...
...and he even asked him, in the second half of the interview, about why Sen. Stevens seems to think the Internet is a bunch of tubes, and his comeback almost made Jon do a REAL spit-take.

Whatever he was drinking almost came out of his nose.

15. McCain should be running away from this quote...
""When asked this week on CNN how long the U.S. military is likely to remain in Iraq, Senator John McCain replied "probably" 10 or 20 years. "That's not so bad," he said, adding, "We've been in Korea for 50 years. We've been in West Germany for 50 years."""

http://www.frostcloud.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-2565.html

Not so bad ? McCain is the R's front runner for '08 too. Or is is Giuliani ? Or some other escapee from the loony bin.
