"Green Oaks mayor arrested on porn charges

Green Oaks Mayor Thomas Adams was arrested today and charged with distributing child pornography over the Internet.

Assistant State's Attorney Patricia Fix said the FBI told local officials in June they had traced email messages with child pornography attachments sent last year to Adams' computer.

Lake County officials began their own investigation, Fix said, and discovered additional images had been sent in May and June of this year.

Adams admitted sending the emails and downloading the pornography found in his computer, Fix said, and told investigators he has been suffering from an addiction to child pornography for at least the past two years."

Adams is a prominent Republican power broker in Chicago's suburbs. He is the former chairman of the Republican Party for Lake County and was a delegate to the Republican convention in 2004.
I like how he is "suffering an addiction". Republicans "suffer addictions" and deserve sympathy while everybody else should be burned at the stake.
