2. I don't mind it at all.
All the bill says is that a condo association, etc cannot make any rule that says you cannot display the american flag on your property.

Seems fine to me. Makes it perfectly legal in all circumstances to fly the flag upside down at your house.

8. I don't think hardly anyone would disagree with you there. The issue is
that whether or not this is even needed or is it just meaningless red meat for the brainless base? Similar to a, I don't know, a Freedom to Worship God Act or some such.

17. BRILLIANT! Freedom to worship God! That's EXACTLY what we need.
Mr. Speaker, I propose...

...before you know it, it's election day, and the Republicans haven't wasted on second talking about important things like the tanking economy, the skyrocketing energy costs and the stupid war they started.

9. not really, check out post #5
that cannot make any rule that does not comply with the US Flag Code, or that would unreasonably damage the interests of the Association.

5. talk about a meaningless bill
Nothing in this Act shall be considered to permit any display or use that is inconsistent with --

(1) any provision of chapter 1 of title 4, United States Code, or any rule or custom pertaining to the proper display or use of the flag of the United States (as established pursuant to such chapter or any otherwise applicable provision of law); or

(2) any reasonable restriction pertaining to the time, place, or manner of displaying the flag of the United States necessary to protect a substantial interest of the condominium association, cooperative association, or residential real estate management association.

sounds like more litigation on the meaning of the word 'reasonable'

13. Doesn't look meaningless to me.
(2) any reasonable restriction pertaining to the time, place, or manner of displaying the flag of the United States necessary to protect a substantial interest of the condominium association, cooperative association, or residential real estate management association.

Looks like you can be restricted on how, when, and where you can fly a flag. Can't have property values decreasing now, can we?

Reasonable is defined by who has the most power and/or money.

14. Snarf...
I can just see some of those condo/home owner associations when someone puts up a mega flag (like you see at the car dealers) or the "ultra patriots" try to outdo each other rendering the neighborhood like Arlington Cemetery on Memorial Day.....

16. It's kind of like the "War on Christmas".
i.e., it's an absolute pile of bullshit dreamed up by the Republicans to distract Americans from the real issues of the day.

FINALLY, the War on Flag Display comes to an end! Sweet Jesus, Let Freedom Reign!
