Four Year Old Articles About Water
Edited on Sun Jul-23-06 09:28 PM by oberliner
Has anybody noticed a proliferation of posts which cite an article from October of 2002 about a dispute between Israel and Lebanon about water as being the true reason for this conflict?

Israel attacked Lebanon to steal their water? Is that the theory?

1. I posted one tonight.

Why wouldn't it be a relative point of discussion? I know how the MSM is framing this as a simple retaliation against Hezbollah, but the water issues of 4 years ago haven't gotten any better. Why might that not be a factor in Israel's decision to attack and occupy an area that has key control on their water needs?

2. Water will trump all other issues
Look where all the aquifers are in Israel, the Occupied Territories, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon.

Find out which way they flow.

Then we can look at per capita consumption in a lovely comparative way.

Yup-- Water will trump all-- religion, terrorism, who did what to whom, etc.

Go back to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Physiological are the basic needs that need to be met...

BTW-- the criminal abuse of water and the misappropriation of basic water rights are, IMHO, criminal acts.
