Right Media Misleading American Public.
The nerve that was triggered has to do with faith. The faith that many people on the right side of the fence have in a limited amount of media sources. Talk radio hosts, and Fox News in particular. Instead of trying to find the truth, or looking for contrary opinions they listened to the Rush's of the world, and took it as faith that this was the correct view.

Now we all know hindsight is 20/20 and given the facts at the time, would our decision have been any different? It is not so much the decision, as much as the inability to look beyond the information you want to hear. Too often when we hear information that supports our current view, we fail to look further.

1. It's interesting to see how they demonize the Muslims too...
I'm doing a research paper on religion and american politics and highlighting a candidate running for a congressional seat representing Minnesota - who happens to be Muslim. It's very interesting to see how the media has lumped all the Muslims together and intimate that they all think like Bin Laden. I have some great interview clips of Coulter, Limbaugh, Brit Hume, O'Reilly, Pat Robertson, etc. it's increadibly foul how they get away with this vile diatribe. I've also read magaizine articles in magazines such as Newsweek where they totally mislead the public on the Muslim reaction to 9/11 and the London bombings. There's even an instance in one of the articles I read where the blatantly transpose the figures on a PEW research poll in favaor of their anti-muslim stance. So much for a free and neutral press that fact-checks... :eyes:

2. Thank God for alternative sources
Our newspaper just announced that they are adding 5 new columnists

Bill O'Reilly
Oliver North
John Stossel
Robert Novak
Michelle Malkin

And we wonder why people are ignorant!
If it wasn't for the Internet I would be lost.

New columnists to begin with Monday’s edition
Beginning Monday, a few new faces will greet readers of the Minden Press-Herald Editorial Page.

The Press-Herald has entered an agreement with Creators Syndicate to publish the weekly writings of well-known and highly respected columnists Bill O'Reilly, Robert D. Novak, Michelle Malkin, John Stossel and Oliver North.

"The Editorial Page is arguably the most important part of a newspaper," Press-Herald publisher Josh Beavers said. "We feel the addition of these columnists, coupled with our local writers and editorials, will strengthen our Editorial Page and as a result make for a stronger overall newspaper."
