I Had One Of Those Good Moments Today.
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 10:11 PM by DistressedAmerican
Took some time off of my Bush kicking to hit a amusement/water park today. Had a very good time and got a wicked sun burn.

At one point in the day I was riding one of the gondolas that runs up and over the park and passed over the little park train. As the train passed underneath the driver sounded the horn and waved up to me 30 or so feet overhead. The rest of the train's passengers looked up to wave as well. I returned the double peace sign and shouted down to them all, "End the war in Iraq".

The folks on the train almost to a one shot me back a peace sign of their own and shouted in approval.

People get it.

We just have to make these criminals feel our collective power!

9. I must be a schmuck too

Last night I went for a motorcycle ride and saw a small group of people holding antiwar/impeach * signs. I was so moved I stopped to thank them all but had to leave quickly lest they see my eyes tear up.

2. Wow
I got chills when I read "The folks on the train almost to a one shot me back a peace sign of their own and shouted in approval."

How cool...that would certainly make my day.

Thanks for sharing, DA!

Cheers

4. Nice to get that feedback from strangers
I had a great conversation in a parking lot today with an elderly woman who walked up as I was putting groceries in the trunk and said: "I like your bumper stickers." (I get that A LOT from strangers.)

We talked 20-30 minutes about stem cell research, the wars, how the Repubs are a cult, etc.
Kindred spirit. :)

8. We've been through a ride to insanity.
People don't like war. And everyone here knew who G. Bush was before the sickness that happened in 2000. So we have been stressed and totally unable to fathom what has taken place.

The only thing they haven't done is privatize the justice system. I was awake last night almost laughing to myself thinking about "And I'm justice Scalia, brought to you by Coke.". And this trial has been brought to you by Lexus!

The peaces signs we gave each other in 1969 are back again. But they never left. Good for you! What a feeling. And brought to you by YOU. Not Pepsi. Right on baby! Peace.

11. Earlier this week, a driver pulled up beside my car and loudly approved ..
.. of my IMPEACH bumpersticker -- which previously produced almost no reaction from anybody across the political spectrum ...
