I have about 50 posts under my belt. But I have had an older alias that I lost my password to and then just decided to make a new one. Ive been reading these boards since 2002 and especially at the height of the 2004 election. So I'm not a conservative/neocon plant.

My thread for being pro-Israel is apparently flame-bait, whatever that means. I guess all the threads that question Israel's actions will remain open.

My Pro-Israel Democrats, let the internet diaspora begin cause we are no longer welcome here. When people like Obama, Feingold, and Clark are being labeled warmongers you know something went wrong. Yeah, I know, I'm a Rove ploy. To the people who had honest and open discussion, I appreciate your views and passion. But now I must go.

I don't think the "pro-Israel" thing is what gets the moderators here.

And also we should mention many Israelis oppose Olmert, probably more than the number of Americans who do.

The problem arises when you coin terms like "pro-Israel" or "anti-Israel." It implies there is no shades of gray, only black or white. I don't deal in absolutism. The term "pro-Israel" would apply--I dare say--to most of DUers. I haven't seen very many here who would call for the eradication of all Israelis, and I haven't seen anybody here who would justify blindly launching Katyusha rockets at cities and towns either.

It becomes difficult to maneuver when you have people screaming at you from both sides. The atmosphere becomes polarized, and people who used to be on the same page on many issues in the past are suddenly oceans apart in disagreement, and you drown in the ocean if you are stuck in the middle.
