So it's not like they didn't have their fair share of persecution too. My grandpa escaped Franco's Spain, his brothers did not. 41. The Basque Country Lost Its Existence

They lost their state; it happens. Yes there was various attempts to wipe them out, including Guernica. That was their most populous city and killed a good percentage of the population; even speaking the Basque language was a dangerous underground activity until the 70's. They have gained some autonomy in recent years.

I don't think the Jewish state will continue if it behaves the way it is right now. They are over-reaching, and over-reacting. As if pure violence can guarantee survival indefinitely....the opposite is true.

People in the "holy lands" have been fighting since recorded history began, yes? The challenge now is to find another way. If they can't figure it out, then everybody loses, nobody survives. This is the nuclear age we live in. Just because a lot of the neighborhood doesn't have nukes right now, they will. They will.

This is insanity.

Bringing Hamas and Hezbollah into their governments, which was supposed to make them less violent since they would feel they have a stake in governing, obviously hasn't worked.
