Crazy Judge Roy Moore wrote ANOTHER poem. "A+" for Atrocious!
This asshat was actually nominated for US Poet Laueate a year or so ago...

America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray.

We've kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges
who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry,
that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,
if you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.

~Judge Roy Moore

3. Here's a poem by our current Poet Laureate. Compare & contrast lol.
A Birthday Poem

Just past dawn, the sun stands
with its heavy red head
in a black stanchion of trees,
waiting for someone to come
with his bucket
for the foamy white light,
and then a long day in the pasture.
I too spend my days grazing,
feasting on every green moment
till darkness calls,
and with the others
I walk away into the night,
swinging the little tin bell
of my name.

THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

There are a bazillion little exceptions, many of them beyond rediculous, but not one of them exists in the commandments. Either you follow the commandment or you don't, there are no halfsies.

He probably still thinks there's a tiny baby inside the head of every sperm, too. :eyes:

....from sea to shining sea...
...your silly stabs at poetry are
such a sight to see...

Instead of versifying or handing out your mirth,
...why not instead keep shut your mouth and prove to us your worth?
We hired you not for doggerel and neither for your wit....
and other than your judgment we all don't give a shit...

so save us now from rhyming to keep you in your place-
we pay to have your judgment and don't want to see your face....

10. Maybe he can get Pat Robertson and Ray Nagin to help him perform it!
Somehow I don't think Robertson will add much artistically, but I understand that people from New Orleans are supposed to be good with music!

20. yeah they're good dancers, too...oh, and Mayor Nagin hasn't threatened
any world leaders lately so he and Robertson are hardly comparable, Mister.

It's hard to dance to but the beautiful imagery is wonderful, if you like dead babies and stuff.

So, this is the guy wingnuts think should be on the SC? I don't think so and Nipsy Russel had better poems.

As someone who thinks Sylvia Plath was a genius, I abhor cr*p like this.

Abortion, check, no God, check, evil government, check hey wait, he forgot the second coming of GW.

12. nominated but didn't win -- what a sad miscarriage of justice
The Poet Laureate selection process, obviously rigged!

"Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine"

That certainly would explain some of the food court atrocities I witnessed during my last trip to the mall.

14. You know, with the way this country is spiralling down...
...this guy really should be US Poet Laureate. It really would proclaim for all the world to see what sort of "art" a "culture" like this produces. Hell, publish this guy's poems in a book with illustrations by Thomas Kinkade!

16. Thank you for sharing that with us. As a result, I will now need Relpax.
God. The stunning, utter illogic of that thing forces it to implode on itself. Seriously. I wrote a term paper about another poem like this once--a poem that was just a collection of non-sensical paradoxes and eventually collapses thematically and structurally as a result. Only, the author of that poem constructed his piece with that effect in mind.

I've seen a lot of RW blather convey this effect, but DAMN. It is so rare to encounter such a fine specimen of their insanity.

17. I checked this out on Snopes a few weeks ago.
They said the investigation was "pending", but the page ad not been updated since May of 2005. I guess that means they are unable to confirm or deny that he wrote the poem. If I were he, I wouldn't confirm it either.
